    Hey there,

    This plugin looks great! I am holding off on implementing it into my site until the Extended version is released. ( I want the auto-post creation rumored to be included in that version) When do you anticipate its release?

    It's probably 3-4 weeks before PhotoSmash Extend will be released.

    Hi Byron,

    Can you give a summary of what will be available (release notes, features list, etc.) for PS Extended? I'm looking to determine if it will help with a few things that I have been struggling with. Plus, I'm sure a few people here are interested in what's coming.

    Lee,

    The first release...is planned to have:

    1) Ad (or any html/javascript) inserts into galleries. It allows you to set up an insert an Insert Set that can be attached to a gallery. It would let you add as many different inserts as you like, with settings for: a) which image to start with; b) how many images to skip between inserts (e.g. do an insert every 3rd image or every other image, etc); c) how many inserts total per page (setting to 0 will loop the inserts to the end)...this is already built and working (as seen in SavorySights.com).

    2) Ability to create posts with uploads. This is going to let you create Post templates (similar to Custom Forms or Custom Layouts). It will then do replacements in the post based on the fields (custom and standard) that were uploaded. You will be able to insert the image you have uploaded using a replacement, you will be able to create new galleries (probably using another gallery as a template), and insert them where ever.

    Part of the beauty of this will be that you will be able to use custom layouts in your created posts so they won't be set in stone...you'll be able to adjust all similar posts by just updating the layouts. You'd also be able to use multiple layouts as needed.

    Hopefully it will solve a problem for some folks.

    If you've got some ugly, hairy, items on your list let me know and I'll try to help. I think users deleting their own stuff was one of your items (or that might have been another Lee). I need to look at that one...just have too many things on the list.

    The users deleting their own images was one of mine. I have another, but I'll start a new thread so its easier for the community to read.
