Yes, go into Gallery Settings / Images and set the Thumbnail size larger. You can also resize existing images in Photo Manager after you set the thumbnail size bigger. The resizing there will create image sizes based on he sizes you have set the image's gallery settings.

But why the picture quality is too low as the actual size is more than 500x500 look here -
The images that you're seeing there are the ones that were resized to 125 x 125: http://magstuff4u.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/adfg-125x125.jpg
