Hi realist,

Sorry for the late reply...been traveling! I've been answering comments for an hour now, so forgive me for being brief ;-)

1) Not at this time...you could code it yourself, but this is something I really need to do for the plugin...it's just such a great feature.
2) Tons of options for custom fields...very flexible. You can design custom upload forms and custom layouts to use those custom fields. It's pretty simple, just use standard html and put your field names in brackets like: [my_field] wherever you want that field to show up.

The EXIF data is stored in the WP Media Library record if you use that option, so it's in there, but I don't have anything wired up to access it yet. Need to do that, though.

3) Yes...built right in. You can set whether to moderate it or not...usually yes.

4) I'm not aware of conflicts, but I haven't tried it. Would love to hear how it goes if you try.

5) I'd love for people to be able to store their images on Flickr or Photobucket. The upload page is geared in such a way to make adding this feature possible...I just haven't had time to figure out all the in's and out's of this. The other side of this would be in the bwbps-layout.php file which puts together the galleries for display...this is set up to make it relatively easy to add this functionality as well.

Would love to incorporate your code if you get it working!

On your last comment there, the fact that you have the ability to add everything to the WP Media Library opens up some possibilities for using some built-in WP features. Might make it easier for you, but I'm not sure.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Byron

First, Thanks for what looks to be a great plugin. I'm planning a user-community/CMS using wordpress and determining how I will accomplish my goals with plugins/coding. I couldn't find the answers to my questions in the "documentation" so I'm asking here for myself and probably others.

1. Can I create a template file like "category123.php" that shows thumbnails of all galleries with links to the gallery page/post?

2. What options are available in creating custom fields and how is data displayed from those fields in the gallery? is EXIF data available?

3. I was able to add a photo in the demo as a non-registered user. Is that possible with Photosmash?

4. Until you get a slideshow, I intended to use Wordpress Gallery Slideshow plugin. Are you aware of any conflicts.

5. I know I'd need to program this myself, but is Photosmash built on a base that would let me store my images at Flickr/Photobucket. Do you think it would be possible to "transfer" images and associated information to Flickr (using their API) upon approval at the moderation step and then delete from local server on success?

Ideally I want to create categorized pools of images which users can contribute to that is hosted at Flickr/Photobucket and has both gallery and slideshow views through Lightbox. Would be nice to get some EXIF data and map the photos. You've built what looks like a great foundation for this.
