Hi Danny,

Thanks for the heads up on that.

I am actually hoping to get rid of that code completely. It's a 3rd party class and is only included for a few legacy users that are using the old style of uploading. Evidently they haven't stumbled into that yet.

The current standard for PhotoSmash is to use WordPress's built in upload and image manipulation code.

Cheers,
Byron

Hey Byron,

Just thought I'd give you a heads up that in your classes/upload/lang/class.upload.id_ID.php file, there is a parse error on line 46. The ; at the end of the assignment is after the comments instead of before. I don't think it's a major issue, but just thought I'd give you a heads up on it.

First let me just say thanks Byron for this cool plug-in. I looked around for quite awhile and photosmash was exactly what I had in mind. Everything was working ok until I updated now I'm having similar problem with trying to add new photos. The photo does upload but doesn't insert and says Array ( [0] => 2010/04/
Any help with this would be much appreciated. http://www.lo2hicruiserz.com/member-uploads/

Hi Amber,

jQuery is being loaded twice...here's the culprit line:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://bakeitpretty.us1.list-manage.com/js/jquery-1.2.6.min.js"></script>

The correct way to include jQuery (or any javascript files for that matter) is by using the built-in WordPress wp_enqueue_script function.

http://www.whypad.com/posts/wordpress-add-scripts-to-the-pages-you-want/749/

When clicking on the "Click here to add your own photo" link, the popup interface appears and it looks like I'm able to successfully upload photos. However, the photos don't appear in the post or in the photo management section.

As far as I can tell, the photos being uploaded via PhotoSmash are nowhere to be found.

Actually, that would be fantastic! But at the moment I would settle for being able to see the Add photo link. I am not sure, it might be a plugin conflict as I have installed it on a new site and it works like a charm!

The problem is the gallery type. Contributor galleries are virtual, meaning people can't upload to them and they are created based on query params. In this case the user name being passes in. It grabs all images by that user across all galleries.

Hope that helps. But sounds like an option for a gallery for each user to upload to is what you want.

For some reason users can't add photos to the galleries (text link is simply missing). I have checked and triple checked the settings and anybody can upload a photo and the galleries are contibutor galleries.

But more than this underneath the gallery I see the code:
displayedGalleries +=
this either shows
...
where there is no image or
'|5';
where I have one.

This is cross browser and the theme is my own. This has worked before. I have upgraded the plugin

I'd be really really grateful for any help or pointers!

It sounds like you may have a WordPress setting problem.

Go to you Admin/ Settings / Miscellaneous and make sure the first setting, "Store uploads in this folder", is set to : wp-content/uploads

Leave the "Full URL path to files" setting blank.

Hi,

Firstly. thanks for a great program: this is exactly what I was looking for; a simple integration of images into my blog that doesnt require much work - as Im a beginner with all of this.

I'm having a bit of a problem with the images not going to the 'uploads' directory: I'm not a php expert, but it appears that none of the directories defined in the various photosmash variables ('thumbs' + 'docs' etc) get created.

'wp-content' and its sub-directories are given permissions 775, but even switching 777 doesnt help.

As I say: the created images show up in the wp-content directory, and I have to manually copy them to 'uploads' before they work correctly.

Do you know what could be causing the problem? Any help appreciated!

In the future: would there be any easy way to define a single "library" directory within the control panel?

I'm using WP WordPress 2.8.6. as the 2.9 upgrade doesnt go well for me :-)

Cheers,

Hi Spel,

PhotoSmash may not do what you're hoping it will do.

Here are a couple of things that may help:

1) PhotoSmash can use the standard WordPress media library images. These are images that you upload in Posts or that you upload in bulk through the Media functions in WordPress Admin. After you get them uploaded there, you can Import them to PhotoSmash.

2) Unfortunately, you only have 2 choices with where the photos are stored, and these depend on whether you're using the Standard WordPress upload functionality (see PhotoSmash Settings/Uploading tab/ "Use built-in WordPress upload functions" option ). If you do use the built-in WordPress upload functions, it will store the images wherever you told WordPress to store all of your uploaded images. This is controlled in WP admin in: Settings / Miscellaneous / "Store uploads in this folder"

If you already have NextGen Gallery working, that may be a better option for your situation if the above doesn't help.

Cheers,
Byron

Few facts

1.	I have my own server
2.	I can upload pictures where I want
3.	I want to change place where pictures will be put because I already have place for just like that occasion
4.	I already have working NextGEN Gallery with few thousand pictures and it work very well in case how it display pictures on my blog
5.	I put all my pictures in one folder and than from NextGEN I put path and scan for images – everything else is automatic – I mean searching and than latter making thumbnails
6.	I will like almost same to do with PhotoSmash but I cant do that
7.	When I go to upload images in already created gallery in PhotoSmash, I don’t see any images – and I don’t know how I can solve that – I spent hour – maybe more trying to understand where is problem, but I didn’t succeed to do that
8.	Like I already sad I have access to mysql and I can change whatever I want – put folder where I want or whatever I need to do to make this working
9.	I need gallery of pictures to bee for pool –few special cases – I will continue to use NexGEN in future except PhotoSmash isn’t better – - I don’t have problem with that, but I need to solve first above mentioned problems

Spel

PS I have put pictures in folder and alone in folder pointed to be for images – but not any success seeing them. Only one picture I seen (and I have more than 4000 of them) and that is only one put into one post – If I remember it is not in Gallery.
