This is exactly what I'm trying to do as well. We want to be able to allow users to send out "Vote for my image" emails to their friends. @vusis, did you use PSExtend to set up the attachment page?

thanx will let you know how I hack this one.
I would prefer to use the code that's already in your plugin to avoid having too many plugins contributing to one purpose because they become difficult to manage.

Hi Vusis,

That's a tough one that I don't have any ideas on off the top of my head.

Here's something else that is possible with PhotoSmash, though. You can actually use GDSR (http://www.gdstarrating.com/). There is a code in PhotoSmash that lets you use the GDSR shortcodes in Custom layouts. The trouble I had with GDSR was that it didn't calculate Attachment Pages in its widgets (highest rated, etc) so, I'm not really sure it's a perfect fit, but it would be easy to integrate it with the Attachment pages if you can get around that problem.

Cheers,
Byron

hi the Byron. here's another challenge.
I've setup PS to link to an attachment page: works perfectly.

but now, I want to move the "rating functionality" to the attachment. Effectively, I want users to be able to rate the attachment and consequently update the gallery rating.

This is what I've done.
I've looked at the bwbps-rating.php page and I think the functions I'm looking for are in there.

However, how do I build the argument ($o_rating) for the get_rating function?

alternatively...

I've written a SQL request to get the rating of an image (attachment). Now I just need to find a way for users to continue rating / voting on the attachment page.

thanx a million

Hi Bryon, - thanks for the reply. I fixed the style to using span. Thanks.

REgarding the tables - it's just not working. I've played around with a few things...but can't get it to work. I am using a really simple layout - which I have edited (actually saved over). Is the any chance I could email you my login for you to take a quick look? It's a work in progress and will continue to work on other things- but really need to get this table thing happening before moving forward. Cheers I would really appreciate it?

Here is the test site front end. - You will get the idea of what I am trying to do. (its a virtual cafe window with gig posters- a not for profit community initiative). http://mywebdots.com/clients/elephantbean/wp/

Hi WebDots,

Thanks! Glad you like it!

1) You might try switching from using the font tag to using a span with style, like:

....

2) The 4 cells across could be related to how wide the available area is compared to how many cells can fit within it. Make sure your cells aren't too wide to fit in there. I assume you've set the setting to 4 in your layout.

Hope that helps,

Hi there. - Awesome plugin. I haven't even used wordpress before let alone a plugin. But I needed something like this for a client and have jumped right in. I'm pretty much there except for two things which I can't get right. I am using the advanced html layout editor with some custom fields.
1. My font size wont change even if I put in html
2. My tables aren't showing 4 images across. (which is what I want).

Here is my code

[thumb_linktoimage]
[GigArtist] on [GigDate]
Venue: [GigVenue]
Time: [GigTime]
Website: [url]

Oh...I see. Sorry. Those can't be changed through PhotoSmash. You'd have to go in and change that through the database. What you can do is use the URL field, though. That is what works with settings I mentioned above.

Thanks for the reply Byron,

It is still not working :(

Hi I am trying to use one of your galleries to link through to another page on my site. (I want to add a custom url of my choice)

So far I have set Photosmash Settings:

1) Default image caption style:
Caption (thumbs & captions link to user submitted url)

2) Default image caption style:
Caption (thumbs & captions link to WP Attachment Page)

and in the Photo Manager I have set the specific image "URL" to my desired page location.

All I want is to have the gallery link through to another page and not display the image shown.

I tried using on my custom form [post_tags value='post_tags'][tag_dropdown tags='first, secound' selected='first'] together and it works! It will add both sets of tags to the images!!

Hi Jon,

1) Yes...I think this might work: [photosmash gallery_type=tags tags='first, second, third' no_form=true tags_has_all=true]

2) Unfortunately, I don't think that works...you can have it set the tags by using: tags_for_upload='post_tags' or have the tag box using post_tags='post_tags' and you can have multiple tag boxes, I think, but not combination of the two...but you might try it anyway

Can I use something like this :[photosmash gallery_type=tags no_form=true tags='a+b'] so just shows images that have exclusive both tags?

Yes, it's definitely better to put it into your own css file. PhotoSmash actually has an option in PhotoSmash Settings to include an additional (or alternative as the case may be) css file, so you don't have to put it into your theme if that gets upgraded with any regularity.

No William, I am referring to your theme style.css. The one that you can edit from wordpress admin area -> Apperance->Editor->style.css.

If you change on bwbps.css you will have to edit this file every time you update the plugin and that is not really a good idea... :)

Hope this helps you better!

Hiya,

The <default> upload form, using a <std_widget> - is difficult to read, is it possible to edit the default upload form appearance - avoiding creating a whole new form in the custom form editor?

No, Jon, you're right. It would show the current user's images, but I think it gets that from the logged in User's ID, and nothing in the shortcode would let you see an authors favorites. There is a "Most Favorited" option, but that doesn't do it either.

It will take some reworking. To make that happen.

I haven't tried yet and will be able to do it just later on, but wouldn't this shortcode just show the current user favorites pictures?

I was thinking something like I am logged in and then after clicking to see your profile, I would get your images and your favorite images...So I think I need a place in the code to insert the authors name like on this one.

<?php

$gallery_parameters = array( 'author'=> ###, 'gallery_type' => 'contributor' );
show_photosmash_gallery( $gallery_parameters );

?>

If I am wrong, please just ignore this message... Cheers!
