Something I thought of today - as I'm now using photosmash for a personal photo storage and display site...

You know how Facebook lets any logged in user tag themselves in images? It would be awesome if we could do that with Photoshop - ie, tag from a GUI rather than in the manage photos screen.

Just a thought. :)

First of all, excelent work on this plugin... I was struggling to get it to work on my website, but since I use a bunch of unfriendly plugins like wp ecommerce and alike, I decided to do a fresh WP install without plugins and it works like charm!

I was wondering the possibility to do a hot or not kinda like gallery forcing users to check each picture uploaded and vote for it.. is this possible with photo smash?

this is my site: http://vs.todomimundoacolor.com

Hello,

First I tried NextGen Gallery beacuse it is so much recommended but I find PhotoSmash much better product. This is not written to get faster replay. ;)

There is one thing I miss in PhotoSmash (or I don't know how to configure it). I would like that image link open new page with full image and all WP menus around. It would be great if bellow image was link back to gallery. It is just not nice to open image in blank page.

In the Import Photos panel, I'd love to be able to search for a specific post to fetch images from, rather than having the dropdown only (with over 2,500 posts and 12,000 images it gets quite hairy trying to find what I'm looking for!). Would LOVE it if there was a search box where I could type in part of the post title perhaps?

First off I want to say, great work on your excellent plugin Byron.

I love how powerful Photosmash is. My only concern is that Photosmash loads on all pages of a site. Personally, I only need one gallery, on one page. That equates to loading 4 extra files (2 .css files and 2 .js files) and adding about 1 second more to the load time of almost every page on my site.

Is there a way to have the plugin check if the page being loaded is a "page", a "post" or a "slug"? Perhaps a "if (isPage() { }" conditional tag could be utilized to only load Photosmash on pages?

I am comfortable with tweaking .php files so I would be more then happy with a simple hack if you are not interested in adding a feature like this to Photosmash.

Thanks for your time Byron, it's great to see a WP plugin developer that actually supports their free product and not just their paid one. I look forward to checking out Photosmash Extend when it is released!

User-Customizable Fields in Upload Form

I know lots of folks are requesting this, but I'd also love for a handful of common fields to be available for easy optional display (the way you allow optional inclusion of 'Caption URL' today). I'm sure everyone's list of these fields is slightly different; in my case, I'm considering running a contest with uploaded photos and thus would like to collect name and email from the anonymous users who'd like to supply it; I'd also love a simple checkbox so the user can specify that they'd want to be added to a mailing list. So, my 'wish list' fields are:

    * Name (so Anonymous uploaders can enter a name, which could then be displayed in the gallery and included in the moderation email)
* Email (so Anonymous uploaders can enter an email address, which could then be included in the moderation email and used to respond to Anonymous users once the photo is moderated)
* 'Add to Email List?' checkbox, the results of which would be included in the moderation email
* A checkbox to make these optional would be helpful, too. For example, if you selected the inclusion of a 'Name' field, you could check the 'required' box, which would update the label to say 'Name (required)' and also would prevent submission of the form until 'Name' was supplied. Alternately, if you left 'required' unchecked, the label would say 'Name (optional)' and would enable submission of the form without this value.

Widget Updates

    * A link to the gallery the photos came from
* The ability to choose whether clicking on a thumbnail displays the photo or takes you directly to the page/post containing the gallery
* The ability to place a little text above and/or below the mini-gallery (so you can provide a little explanatory text)

As a non-coder type, I'm sorry I can't provide anything but ideas; but thank you again for your creation of this outstanding plug-in!

I organize my pics for galleries offline by how I name them as I generate the images, which are numbered automatically by my software when I save them. I have the gallery they are in set to sort by when uploaded and ascending and it looks like its doing it by file name. Is that the default in this case? Even if not, it would be reassuring if they could be set to be sorted that way even if I upload them out of filename sequence, or reupload low numbers later on.

I will have dozens of pics in each gallery, so this would be very nice. I've seen other galleries do this. I hope you can add it.

Hi Byron, great plugin, thanks much for your work!

I'm planning on using PS in a niche site for kind of a 'traders corner' or 'market place'. The owner of the site want a place each registered user can upload up to 5 photos of items for trade or sale.

So far I've modded bwbps-layout.php starting line 1770 for the switch and bwbps-admin.php line 657 & 1305 code blocks to add order by user_id. I also enabled manual & custom ordering to find out what I can do with those. I pretty sure using a custom output I can separate the users with a little heading...

I'm working on the upload limit now but I'm sure that will be more entailed.

I'll share what I've got if you want but I didn't want to clutter things up here.

Down side is when I update PS versions I'm sure I'll lose the tweaks.

Is there another way to do what I'm after or do you think future versions may have some options like this?

Thanks

When the view clicks on a photo to see an enlargement, it would be nice if they could just arrow to the next photo. Back and forward arrows.

Hi!
Is it possible to get support to lightbox 2.04.
http://www.4mj.it/lightbox-js-v20-wordpress/
It is very important for me, because this version of light box has auto resize function.
Thank You!
